About Us

Roga Origins

Roga Africa was created to address the lack of stylish, size inclusive fashion for African
women that offered bold, confident, and comfortable fashion all at once. As an African
woman, I often struggled with finding stylish outfits that truly fit. Being a size 12 at the top
and a 14 at the bottom, shopping was always a challenge. I wanted clothes that allowed
women like me to move freely and feel beautiful without constantly worrying about sizing.
That’s where our relaxed, oversized fits came in pieces that flatter without restriction.
There’s also the pride of a daughter rocking one of her mum’s clothes. In a personal
moment some years ago, my mum handed me a linen shirt she had owned for over 10
years, and when I wore it, it still looked and felt amazing. That experience sparked my
appreciation for linen a fabric that’s breathable, durable, and perfect for our African
climate.
We also saw a broader gap in the market for versatile pieces that could transition across
different occasions from casual to formal, while still reflecting African identity. Many
African fashion brands lean either too traditional or overly Westernized. Roga Africa
strikes a balance, offering breathable linen pieces that are stylish, conscious, and crafted
with care

Sustainability at Roga Africa

Our approach is anchored in Responsible Consumption and Production promoting
circularity and resource efficiency in African fashion.
At Roga Africa, sustainability is woven into every stitch from the fabrics we choose to the
way we produce. We work with 100% linen, a breathable, biodegradable fabric that
supports our commitment to slow, conscious fashion.
Our pieces are crafted in limited quantity by local artisans in Nigeria, ensuring ethical
production and minimal waste. We also minimize material waste by optimizing pattern
cutting and repurposing fabric scraps into packaging or limited edition designs.
We design for longevity. Each garment is meant to be worn and cherished over time. We
include care instructions with every purchase.
Looking ahead, we’re laying the foundation for Roga Raw our vision to locally grow and
process flax into Nigerian linen in partnership with weavers and textile schools
